The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings
This was my first piece I felt some real drama and perhaps a glimmer of being able to create art professionally.
Things started getting scary fun as I started to gain more control over putting the images in my head onto the canvas.
Setting up objects and drawing every day, practicing black & white techniques to capture the drama and forms is neverending.
Learning from those who have mastered the art before you is one of many things we need to do as much as we can.
Pen & Ink
I have been drawing in pen and ink for as long as I can remember and this portrait master study started to explore contour lines.
Gold-Key Award Winner
I started winning some awards early on and this was one of those pieces I felt was really fun, easy, and fluid to create.
When I was 15 I started drawing on my bedroom wall, 8x10 feet with characters four feet tall... neighbors and family fans called it "The Wall."
Being athletic and playing all sports this was the first t-shirt design I did for my soccer team.
Wizard and Hulk
Having fun, I entered a contest for Wizard magazine and studied one of my favorite artists, Todd McFarlane.
A Childs Imagination
One of my most fun memories was just drawing with friends, in this piece we would draw and swap and draw and swap each other's drawings.
